SWISS Airline Will Recruit New Pilots Starting with 2023

SWISS will resume training new pilots and recruiting them from 2023.

Lufthansa Aviation Training will provide the training. Financial training support is also available for SWISS student pilots.

After being suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Swiss International Air Lines will resume recruitment and training new pilots next year. SWISS will also employ 80 first officers who have completed their training with Lufthansa Aviation Training Switzerland.

"We are very happy that after a two year hiring freeze, we can now provide a new generation SWISS pilots job opportunities, career prospects and an attractive workplace aloft and can welcome more colleagues to our cockpit crew corps," states Stefan-Kenan Scheib, Head of Flight Operations SWISS. We are looking for new cockpit personnel to help us continue meeting all our SWISS flight crewing requirements.

The European Flight Academy (EFA), which is run by LAT, will conduct the two-year training for SWISS's new pilots. Training will be held at several locations, including Opfikon (Switzerland) and Grenchen (USA).

Manuel Meier, the Managing Director of Lufthansa Aviation Training Switzerland AG, stated that "now is the perfect time for talented young people to pursue a career in cockpit" We are the Lufthansa Group’s Swiss-based training organisation and offer high-quality basic and additional flight training with SWISS instructors as well as a state of-the-art fleet of training aircraft.

Financial support was offered by SWISS student pilots

Candidates must have at least three years' experience in basic vocational training, or be able to access university-level education without having to take an exam. Assistance can be provided to students flying in SWISS for the cost of training.
