Eurowings transports over 55,000 dogs and cats annually, ensuring a pet-friendly experience for travelers. Here’s what you need to know about flying with your furry companions on Eurowings.

Allowed Pets and Transport Requirements

Dogs and Cats in the Cabin

Eurowings allows dogs and cats to travel in the cabin, provided they meet the following requirements:

• Transport Bag: Pets must be in a transport bag that fits in the footwell of the seat in front.
• Weight Limit: The total weight of the animal, including the bag, must not exceed 8 kg.
• Number of Pets: A maximum of two animals per passenger can be carried in a single transport box.
• Cost: Transport fees start at 60 euros per pet. Certified assistance dogs travel free of charge.
• Booking: Pets can be added during the seat reservation process in the "Special baggage" section or by calling the call center.

Age Requirements

• General Travel: Pets must be at least twelve weeks old at the start of the journey.
• Travel to/from Germany: The minimum age is 15 weeks.

Preparing Your Pet for Travel

Form Submission

A form must be completed before each journey and handed in at the check-in counter. This form can be downloaded from Eurowings' website.

Transport Box Specifications

• The box must allow the animal to stand upright, turn around, and lie down.
• It must be waterproof, bite-proof, permanently sealed, and air-permeable.
• Hard-sided transport boxes are not accepted.

Exceptions and Restrictions

Restricted Breeds and Routes

• Breed Restrictions: Category 1 fighting dogs, such as pit bulls and Staffordshire bull terriers, are not allowed.
• Route Restrictions: Pet transport is not available on flights to Great Britain, Ireland, and Dubai.

Assistance Dogs

• Assistance dogs are exempt from transport restrictions on flights to Dubai.
• Separate regulations apply for assistance dogs on flights to Great Britain and Ireland.
