Comet ISON is coming. Once billed to be” the biggest comet ever,” Comet ISON will come out from behind the sun and will peak the week of Dec 1-8, 2013. Observers on this Star Flyer cruise will see Comet ISON before dawn each day as the Star Flyer unfurls it’s’ acre of sails, sailing the Costa Rican Coast.
(Surprise, AZ) USA – Daniel Oppliger of Tropical Sails Corp will be leading a group of avid star gazers on a Star Clipper cruise off the Costa Rican Coast, December 1-8, 2013. Comet ISON will be in the sky before dawn. Once predicted to be a daylight object, projections have tamed a bit. The Star Flyer, being a tall ship without obnoxious lights will allow participants to view Comet ISON in very dark skies.

The cruise on the Star Flyer begins Sunday December 1st in Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica. On Monday you will be at sea, observing the comet before dawn. Sail this week to: San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, Playa de Coco, Costa Rica, Cuanjiniquil, Playa Flamingo, Islas Tortugas and Puerto Caldera. With five full days ashore you will have time to go horseback riding, zip-lining, go boating on a river, take a water slide down a mountain, climb volcanos, buy coffee or soak in hot springs. Costa Rica is for active vacationers, but then again you may just sit on the ship and smell the salt air!
