South Korean ferry sinking UPDATE|

Travel Business
Today’s agenda is a bit grim as disaster struck South Korea, with a ferry sinking with 477 people on board, most of them being students. Rescue teams have managed to save 180 of those on board, so far.

The ship was sailing towards the JejuIsland when it had issued a mayday signal at 00:00 GMT. Witnesses suggest that it has hit the bottom of the sea. The incident occurred at approximately 20 km from ByungpoongIsland.

The students were heading towards Jeju, one of the major tourist attractions South Korea has to offer, which is also known as “The South Korean Hawaii”.

The authorities are still to account for approximately 300 people who do not appear on the rescued passenger lists.

The horrific event comes with its own tales of terror from the survivors "I had to swim a bit to get to the boat to be rescued,"  "The water was so cold and I wanted to live." - Lim Hyung Min, one of the passengers on board of the ferry.

We will keep you posted on the updates.
