Six Senses Has Opened Its First Wellness Resort In Rome

News

The new spa at Six Senses Rome, the chain's first Italian location, takes its cues from both ancient Roman baths rituals and Greek mythology.

According to the hotel's general manager, Francesca Tozzi, the venture is overjoyed to be opening its first urban Six Senses guest-house in Italy, as the group did its best to create an environment where visitors can relax and have a good time in a genuine setting. The 96-room hotel, which is housed inside a UNESCO-listed palace from the 18th century and has been restored by architect Patricia Urquiola.

Six Senses' crowning achievement The Spa, which will include five treatment rooms and pay respect to Rome's tradition of public bathing, will be the jewel of the investment. The walls of the city spa will be adorned with a bas-relief depicting a scene from the tale of Daphne and Apollo, giving the establishment an antique Roman air.

The construction of the facility was delivered by Wellness and Spa Solutions based in the United Kingdom, and Starpool and Lemi, headquartered in Italy.

As for the services here, the 60-minute spa experience for each client will revolve around a replica of the old Roman bathing style, complete with a caldarium, tepidarium, and frigidarium pool, to provide a contemporary spin on the ritual and promote interaction between visitors.

A variety of spa offerings, from specialised facials to trademark full-body massages, will be available to guests as well. Several reputable brands, such as Biologique Recherche, Seed to Skin, Organic Pharmacy, and Subtle Energies, have partnered with spas.

In addition, visitors will be given the opportunity to learn about the medicinal properties of various plants and herbs at the Alchemy Bar, and they will have access to in-house experts who can provide innovative treatments such as biohacking, sound healing, body nests, and breathing exercises.

The project included Six Senses' first sustainability initiative, the restoration of the church's exterior at nearby San Marcello al Corso. The hotel's Earth Lab is where guests may participate in educational seminars and workshops that teach them about sustainability and help them better understand the hotel's initiatives. The hotel's rooms and suites pay homage to Roman history in a number of ways, including the use of local Travertine stone and the installation of ancient Roman Cocciopesto fresco on the walls. Certain rooms and suites even have terraces furnished with marble in the distinctive Triclinium fashion.

Along with the Sleep With Six Senses requirements for custom home-made and organic mattresses, cotton bedding, pillows, and other amenities to support a good night's sleep, cutting-edge in-room technology will also be implemented.

An organic fruit and vegetable garden will be located on the resort's rooftop, where chefs may forage for ingredients to prepare authentic Roman dishes.

The renovation of Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini was mostly financed by Orion Real Estate Fund V.
