Roller Coaster stuck in 90-degree heat due to power outage

The Cedar Point theme park located in Ohio experienced a power outage on Monday, May 28th, which has caused one of the roller coasters to remain stuck in a 90-degree heat. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Cedar Point is considered one of the best theme parks in the U.S. due to its spectacular location on a peninsula that reaches out into Lake Erie. It calls itself “the roller coaster capital of the world”. Visitors that don’t fancy getting into one of the 16 roller coasters and increase their adrenaline levels a bit can opt for chilling on the beach, relaxing by the pool of the on-site hotel or for heading over to the water park of Cedar Points. This park can suit the needs of every visitor, that’s for sure.
However, this Monday, May 28th, visitors to Cedar Point who chose to go on a roller coaster ride got some unexpected thrills. A car accident in the area of the theme park caused a power outage. Thus, those that were already in the roller coaster remained stranded.
A car hit a utility pole and at about 1.45 pm (local time), the power in the region went out. The temperature outside was nearly 90 degrees Fahrenheit (about 33 degrees Celsius). The power was finally restored after about two hours. During this time, people remained stranded in midday sun, with no water or shade above their head.
The thing is not only the roller coasters remained stranded, but the entire theme park was left powerless for two hours straight.
One of the park visitors that day, Alecia Beggs, said in an interview she gave to Fox 8 Cleveland that “It was really scary. I felt really bad for them. Especially looking around at the Millennium Force. People on the cable rides, the swings. You saw so many people stuck. It was so horrible.”
Another park visitor, Macy Abner, said that “At first, they were all kind of laughing about it.They were good sports about it. And then you could see it was getting harder and harder for them to stay up there.”
The good news is that no reports of injuries were made after the outage at Cedar Point theme park. Additionally, the theme park officials stated that anyone that visited the park during the outage on Memorial Day could come to Cedar Point again and use their tickets before Labor Day.
