Qatar Airways Extends Flight Suspension Amid Airspace Closure

Qatar Airways has extended the suspension of its scheduled flight operations as Qatari airspace remains closed, continuing to disrupt travel through the airline’s Doha hub.

 

The airline said it will resume operations only after the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirms that the country’s airspace has safely reopened. A further operational update is expected on March 7 at 09:00 Doha time (06:00 UTC).

In the meantime, Qatar Airways is working to organise additional relief flights where operationally possible in order to assist passengers affected by the disruption. Details of these flights will be announced once they are confirmed.

Passengers whose travel plans have been impacted will be contacted directly by Qatar Airways with information regarding flight arrangements and next steps. The airline has advised customers not to travel to the airport unless they have received official confirmation of their flight.

For travellers currently in Doha, airline representatives are available at designated hotels to provide assistance and answer questions regarding relief flights and travel arrangements.

Qatar Airways has also urged passengers to ensure that their contact details are updated through the airline’s website or mobile app, allowing the carrier to provide timely updates and travel information.

The airline said that the safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew remain its highest priority, apologising for the disruption caused by circumstances beyond its control and thanking customers for their patience.
