Steenberg has been voted by readers of Condé Nast Traveler (US) as the Top Foreign Golf Resort of 2012, in its recently announced 16th annual golf poll. Scoring the winning 96.4 points, Steenberg was rated across eight categories, namely Course Design & Access, Golf Staff & Service, Rooms, Service, Food/Dining, Location, Overall Design, and Activities/Facilities.
It was one of 121 resorts worldwide to be listed in the prestigious survey, and was the only one on the African continent to be included in the top 20 foreign golf resorts category, that promises: ‘gorgeous golf for all skill levels coupled with unrivaled lodgings, food, and service’. Steenberg’s 18-hole, Peter Matkovich championship golf course is distinguished by its unique natural terrain and environmental diversity that optimizes the natural features and hazards of the estate, offering superb views across the vineyards towards the Stone Mountain, with the Atlantic Ocean in the distance.
