
Eurostar Launches Ski Season Ticket Sales

Ski enthusiasts seeking to visit the slopes by rail have something to smile about as Eurostar now offers travellers more route choices to the Alps than ever before after the introduction of two additional Eurostar options.

The high-speed passenger rail linking the UK to mainland Europe opened sales for its sought-after direct ski service from London St Pancras and Ashford International to the heart of the French Alps.
Eurostar now offers a new direct service from London to Lyon. British travellers can board the train at London St Pancras or Ashford International and reach Lyon with the new direct Eurostar service four and a half hours later.
Lyon is extremely well connected, a real gateway to the French Alps that links some of Europe's most sought-after ski resorts, including Alpe d'Huez, Les Deux Alpes and Chamrousse.
Eurostar travellers benefit from a substantial luggage allowance, each passenger being able to bring two suitcases, one piece of hand luggage and skis or snowboard at no additional cost.
For those who want to ski in the Swiss Alps, Eurostar's connecting service to Geneva via Lille is the other way to get to the heart of Switzerland and further to the popular ski resorts.
Passengers can travel from London to Geneva in just over six hours with a seamless connection on to a "TGV Lyria" service in Lille Europe, with the services being thoroughly timed to ensure a fast transfer between connections.
Eurostar's popular day and night services direct to the French Alps provide easy access to top resorts including Aime-la-Plagne, Courchevel and Meribel, all of which being within an hour from the station.
The 2015/2016 seasonal ski services will run weekly from December 19th until April 9th and skiers.
Tickets went on sale on July 16th.
