Peninsula Hot Springs Announces AUS$11.7 Million Outback Sister Site

Peninsula Hot Springs unveils a new sister site in Cunnamulla, Queensland, offering geothermal pools, wellness activities, and cultural experiences in the outback.
Peninsula Hot Springs, renowned for its luxurious bathing experience in Victoria, Australia, has expanded its wellness footprint with the launch of a new sister site in Cunnamulla, southwest Queensland. This new desert oasis, owned by the local council and managed by the Peninsula Hot Springs Group (PHS), established by Charles Davidson in 2005, offers a unique retreat in the Australian outback.
Set against the scenic backdrop of the Warrego River, Cunnamulla Hot Springs taps into the region's geothermal waters, rich in minerals, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Cox Architects and an AUD$11.7 million investment from both the Australian federal government and Queensland's state government.
The Cunnamulla site features an array of facilities designed to enhance wellness and relaxation, including seven open-air geothermal mineral pools with temperatures ranging from 36-40°C, a cold plunge pool, sauna, steam room, along with essential amenities such as indoor showers, relaxation areas, changing rooms, picnic spots, and a canteen.
Guests are invited to partake in self-guided wellness activities like clay rituals, salt scrubs, and hot and cold therapy, in addition to exploring the natural beauty of the area through walking trails. Further enriching the Cunnamulla experience, PHS has acquired the neighboring local theatre, envisioning it as a cultural hub for art exhibitions, films, and performances.
Charles Davidson expressed his vision for Cunnamulla Hot Springs as a means for visitors to deeply connect with the outback's unique landscape, indigenous communities, and the therapeutic artesian waters. He aims for the site to foster a sense of community and wellbeing akin to the impact of the original Peninsula Hot Springs over 18 years ago.
The Cunnamulla Hot Springs welcomes visitors of all ages, with a two-hour day pass priced at AUD$45 for adults and AUD$25 for children aged 3-15, offering an accessible and enriching wellness experience in the heart of Australia's outback.
