Norwegian Line's New Fall Caribbean Cruises from New Orleans, Port Canaveral

Norwegian Getaway Sets Sail from New Orleans on Oct. 20, 2024; Norwegian Epic Begins Round-Trips from Port Canaveral on Oct. 30, 2024
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), known for its innovative approach in the cruise industry over its 57-year history, has announced new Caribbean itineraries for the Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Epic. These itineraries, departing from New Orleans and Port Canaveral, Florida, come in response to increased demand for warm-weather destinations this fall.
Starting October 20, 2024, the Norwegian Getaway will begin seven-day round-trip cruises to the Western Caribbean from New Orleans. Similarly, the Norwegian Epic will embark on voyages to the Eastern Caribbean from Port Canaveral, starting October 30, 2024. After spending the summer in Europe offering Mediterranean and Greek Isles cruises, these ships will return to offer new fall itineraries. These cruises will feature visits to various Caribbean islands, including NCL's private destinations: Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas and Harvest Caye in Belize. Sales for these cruises will open in February.
David J. Herrera, President of Norwegian Cruise Line, emphasized the Caribbean's popularity, particularly during the fall and winter. The decision to deploy two of NCL's largest ships for scenic, tropical cruises from New Orleans and Port Canaveral was driven by a desire to offer guests top-notch vacations from easily accessible homeports.
The Norwegian Getaway, part of NCL's Breakaway Class, is equipped with 40 restaurants, bars, and lounges. It features the Waterfront, a walkway offering ocean views, the Mandara Spa and Salon with a Thermal Suite, a range of accommodations, and world-class entertainment. For family fun, the ship includes a sports complex, an open-air ropes course, and the Aqua Park with waterslides, swimming pools, hot tubs, and thrilling slides like the Free Fall and the Whip.
The Norwegian Epic, among the most sizable vessels in the NCL fleet, measures an impressive 1,081 feet in length and can accommodate 4,100 guests. This ship is notable for its 19 bars and lounges, 15 dining options ranging from complimentary to specialty restaurants, a large Mandara Spa and Salon, and the exclusive adults-only Posh Beach Club. For thrill-seekers, the Epic features an Aqua Park with two pools, five hot tubs, three multi-story water slides including the 200-foot Epic Plunge, and a dedicated pool for kids.
A pioneering vessel, the Norwegian Epic was the first to introduce the innovative Studio Staterooms and the luxurious, keycard-access-only enclave known as The Haven by Norwegian®. The ship offers a diverse range of accommodations and is renowned for its nightly entertainment, including the popular "Burn the Floor" dance show, The Cavern Club, and the interactive game show "Deal or No Deal."
The Caribbean sailings of the Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Epic will be available for booking on NCL’s website (www.ncl.com) starting in February. These cruises are part of NCL's value-added program, "Free at Sea," which offers guests complimentary amenities such as unlimited open bar, free Wi-Fi, specialty dining and shore excursion credits, and free airfare for the second guest on select sailings.
