New train service at Hamad International Airport

The dual Passenger Trains allowing easy access to and from the airport terminal has become fully operational, as the most efficient airport rail transporation in the world was just innaugurated.
The trains transporting passengers arriving at the Hamad International Airport were officially inaugurated a week ago by Qatar Airways group chief executive Akbar Al Baker and Badr Mohammed Al Meer, chief operating officer of Hamad International Airport, after months of railway safety certification process ended.
With the occasion of the service’s launch, Akbar Al Baker commented:
“With the opening of the new Passenger Trains Hamad International Airport passengers will now benefit from an even better experience when travelling through the award-winning HIA. The continued investment in HIA, our home and hub, will ensure that it remains one of the world’s most advanced airports, a destination on its own, and meeting the growing needs of more than 30 million travellers who choose to fly across HIA.”
The two Passenger Trains connect the south and north nodes of the terminal, increasing airport access and considerably reducing travel time for all passengers, both arriving and departing from HIA, the most efficient air hub in the world.
Each of the trains has a total capacity of 190 passengers. The train will be operated simultaneously for 24 hours a day. The total time between the two stations will only take 90 seconds.
