Minor Hotels to Introduce Avani Hotels & Resorts in Greater China with Two New Properties

Hotels & Resorts

Minor Hotels announces the debut of Avani Hotels & Resorts in Greater China with two new properties, Avani Huajian Xinyi Guangdong Resort and Avani+ Xinyi Guangdong Resort, set to open in a national forest area of Guangdong Province.

Minor Hotels, a global player in the hotel industry with over 540 properties across 56 countries, alongside its joint venture partner in China, Funyard Minor JV Co., (China), announces the expansion of Avani Hotels & Resorts into Greater China. The debut will see two new upscale resorts, Avani Huajian Xinyi Guangdong Resort and Avani+ Xinyi Guangdong Resort, opening their doors in the first half of the year in Guangdong Province's protected national forest area, marking Avani's entry into the Chinese market.

These resorts are set to become one of the first international upscale hotel brands in Xinyi, blending leisure, culture, and ecotourism. The development is part of a larger plan that includes multiple hotels, commercial blocks, and residential holiday villas, offering an immersive cultural experience rooted in ancient Chinese traditions.

Avani Huajian Xinyi Guangdong Resort, nestled beside the River Huanghua, will feature 86 spacious rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant specializing in Gaoliang cuisine, an AvaniFit gym, and Xinyi’s first infinity sky pool. Aimed at families, the resort will also offer themed kids rooms.

Meanwhile, Avani+ Xinyi Guangdong Resort is set among bamboo forests, providing 96 modern rooms and suites, some with private balconies and pools. This mountainous retreat will include a contemporary all-day dining restaurant, a bar, an infinity pool, an AvaniFit gym, and an AvaniKids club.

Xinyi is emerging as an ecotourism hotspot, known for its ecological riches, including alpine meadows, the largest bamboo forest in western Guangdong, a mountain lake, hot springs, and award-winning ecotourism spots. Visitors can explore the Shiyin Ancestral Temple or participate in the Fruit Festival, celebrating the local Sanhua plum.

Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels, remarked on the significance of these openings for both Minor Hotels and Xinyi’s hospitality scene, emphasizing the brand's commitment to delivering culturally rich and immersive guest experiences.

Eddy Tiftik, Vice President of Development & Operations for Minor Hotels in Greater China, expressed excitement about introducing Avani's first properties in the region, highlighting their nature-centric design and appeal to guests seeking unique destination hotels.

These launches are part of Avani Hotels & Resorts' ongoing expansion, with further openings planned in Asia, Europe, the Seychelles, and the Americas in 2024, reinforcing its growing international footprint.
