Middle East Flight Disruptions Affect Berlin Airport
Air traffic between Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) and destinations in the Middle East remains heavily disrupted as airlines continue to cancel flights due to the ongoing security situation in the region.
According to the airport, most scheduled flights connecting Berlin with Middle Eastern destinations were cancelled in early March. On one day alone, 20 out of 24 planned departures and arrivals were called off, with airlines warning that further cancellations could follow throughout the week.
The disruptions affect routes linking Berlin with several major hubs in the region, including cities such as Dubai, Doha and Beirut. The cancellations are part of a broader wave of flight suspensions across Europe and the Middle East as airlines respond to the evolving geopolitical situation and airspace restrictions.
Airports and airlines across Germany have also been impacted, with hundreds of flights cancelled nationwide and thousands of passengers forced to adjust their travel plans. Industry groups say the situation remains fluid as carriers continue to assess safety conditions and operational risks.
Passengers travelling to or from the Middle East are advised to check the latest updates directly with their airline, as flight schedules may change at short notice depending on developments in the region.
