Menzies World Cargo Launches Operations at Oslo Airport

Oslo Airport has welcomed a new cargo operator as Menzies World Cargo officially begins operations following its acquisition of Spirit on 1 September. The move is expected to significantly enhance the airport’s air freight capacity and services.
Eva Beate Lande, Head of Cargo at Avinor, hailed the development: “We are very pleased that Menzies World Cargo is now becoming part of the Oslo Airport community. Their establishment strengthens both capacity and services within cargo, providing airlines and businesses with an even stronger foundation for further growth.”
The acquisition transfers Spirit’s longstanding cargo and ground services operations to Menzies, which already has a strong presence at Oslo Airport through its ground handling division. The expansion is expected to bring international expertise and a broader network to Norway’s largest airport.
Lande emphasized the strategic importance of air cargo to Norway’s economy: “Oslo Airport plays a central role as a hub for Norwegian exports and imports. A broad and competitive cargo offering is crucial for the seafood industry, manufacturing, and other exporters. Menzies World Cargo will help strengthen this position even further.”
Avinor looks forward to a strong partnership with Menzies World Cargo, aiming to further develop Oslo Airport into a leading Nordic hub for air cargo.
