Lufthansa Adds Klarna Pay Later and Financing Options
Lufthansa Group is expanding its payment options through a new partnership with Klarna and Adyen, giving travelers more flexibility when booking flights. Starting mid-November 2025, customers in Germany, Austria, Belgium and Switzerland, along with other key markets, will be able to choose new Klarna-powered payment methods supported by Adyen’s global platform.
Alongside the standard “Pay in Full” option, passengers can now select:
-
Pay Later: book immediately and pay after a set period
-
Financing: spread the cost of higher-value bookings over time
The collaboration aims to modernize the booking experience and offer customers greater convenience, transparency and control.
“By partnering with Klarna and Adyen, we can offer greater choice and flexibility in how customers pay for their journeys,” said Oliver Schmitt, Managing Director Lufthansa Group Digital Hangar.
“We’re making it easier for travelers to book with confidence,” added David Sykes, Klarna Chief Commercial Officer.
“Lufthansa Group customers will benefit from a smooth, flexible checkout experience,” said Alexa von Bismarck, President EMEA at Adyen.
The rollout begins in mid-November and will expand to all Lufthansa Group airlines—including Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS and Brussels Airlines—by the end of Q2 2026.
