LOT Polish Airlines Introduces Wi-Fi on Dreamliner Fleet

Airlines & Airports

LOT Polish Airlines has started introducing in-flight Wi-Fi across its long-haul fleet, beginning with one of its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The first aircraft equipped with the new connectivity service, registered SP-LSA, is already offering passengers Internet access during flights.

The airline plans to expand the service gradually to additional aircraft. Two more Dreamliners are expected to receive the Wi-Fi system by the end of April as part of a wider rollout across LOT’s long-haul fleet.

Connectivity on board is powered by Viasat’s next-generation Amara solution, which uses the company’s global satellite network to deliver fast and reliable Internet access during flights. The system is designed to support a range of online activities, allowing passengers to send messages, browse the web, stream content and work while travelling.

LOT says the introduction of in-flight Internet is part of a broader effort to improve the passenger experience and respond to growing demand for connectivity on long-distance routes. Access to Wi-Fi has increasingly become a standard expectation for travelers on long-haul flights, particularly among business passengers.

Passengers can choose between two paid Internet packages. The “Chat” option, priced at $7, allows access to messaging applications, while the “Streaming” package, priced at $29, enables broader Internet use including browsing websites, watching videos and working online.

Complimentary Internet access will also be available for LOT Business Class passengers as well as selected members of the Miles & More frequent flyer program who hold eligible status levels, regardless of the travel class they are flying in.

The rollout marks another step in the airline’s efforts to modernize its onboard product and provide greater flexibility for passengers who want to stay connected throughout their journey.
