Lollapalooza music festival to be hosted by Mumbai

2023 will be the year Lollapalooza will debut in India, as the prestigious music festival will arrive in Mumbai at the end of January.
The event, started by Jane’s Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell, has gathered together huge music industry names since its debut in 1991, such as Metallica, Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Daft Punk, Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, Daft Punk, Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Kendrick Lamar and many more celebrity artists.
Currently the iconic four-days music festival held every year in Grant Park, Chicago, as well as Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France and Sweden, will reach Mumbai, India on January 28 and 29, 2023, marking its long-awaited Asian debut. For its Chicago edition, the festival put together bands like Metallica, Dua Lipa, Machine Gun Kelly, Glass Animals, Green Day and Måneskin, so it is expected that the next edition will be even more spectacular.
Lollapalooza will offer its participants two full days of the best music out-there while in India. The full artist list is yet to be announced.
According to the organizers, Lollapalooza India “aims to bring together music aficionados across genres, entertainment enthusiasts, global and Indian audiences that are seeking marquee, unique experiences at par with international standards”.
Perry Farrell added about the upcoming festival:
“The music of India is transcendental, it draws our spirits East. Lollapalooza is an instrument for unity, peace and education utilising the universal languages of music and art to find common ground. You may be excited, and we are equally as excited.”
More than 60,000 fans are expected to attend the festival in Mumbai next year.
