KLM Cancels Over 100 Flights Amid Two-Hour Ground Staff Strike

News

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has cancelled more than 100 flights due to a ground staff strike scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM CET. The two-hour walkout, led by unions FNV and CNV, is expected to cause widespread disruption at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport.

The airline has already rebooked affected passengers on the next available flights and is urging all travelers with flights during or around the strike window to check their flight status through the ‘My Trip’ section on KLM's website or app.

The strike comes despite KLM reaching a labor agreement last week with three other unions—NVLT, VKP, and De Unie. However, FNV and CNV declined to enter discussions regarding the deal, leading to the strike action.

KLM has expressed disappointment over the strike and reiterated its commitment to continuing dialogue with union representatives. The airline said it is working to minimize disruption for customers while maintaining safe and reliable operations.

Travelers are advised to arrive at the airport early and stay informed of any changes to their itineraries.
