Katmandu Park Punta Cana - The Caribbean's First Theme Park

News

The park's opening date and ride information were announced recently.

Katmandu Park Punta Cana, the first theme park in the Caribbean region, has announced its launch date on March 15, 2023.

The park, which is based in the Dominican Republic, is said to include state-of-the-art, first-of-its-kind rides and attractions that immerse visitors in the company's unique theme of 'The Secret Realms of Katmandu’.

For the ultimate getaway, Katmandu Park Punta Cana combines immersive entertainment and activities with luxury accommodation, as stated by Cecil D. Magpuri, CEO of Falcon's Beyond, in a news release. Guests may come as often or as little as they want, depending on their schedules and interests, rather than being restricted to a single option. Visitors may choose from three different ticket packs, all of which are already on sale. Prices begin at $85 for children and $120 for adults.

Connected to the five-star Falcon's Resort by Meliá All Suites Punta Cana, Katmandu Park will provide guests with a distinctive "resortainment" opportunity. Exciting, high-tech attractions will transport visitors inside Katmandu's world. The Journey of the Fathom Wanderer promises riders an authentic experience unmatched by the ones frequently seen at other parks in a novel suspended theatre attraction where riders fly through an incredible tale. The Tale of the Desirata is an exciting 4D dark ride that takes visitors through the history of how Katmandu came to be. Using cutting-edge equipment, Challenge of the Mad Mage will provide attendees with a fresh take on the classic theatregoing adventure. Guests of EtherQuest, "a next-level interactive walk-through attraction," will take centre stage in an "action-packed" experience.

Expedition Golf, a 36-hole mini golf course set on peaks and within caverns, is also part of the project. There will also be themed restaurants, carnival games, an outdoor ropes training, indoor climbing classes, and more. The Wheel of Endless Wonder, the park's centrepiece, will feature a themed carousel with figures based on those from The Hidden Realms.

Falcon's Beyond, a top fully integrated worldwide entertainment production business, was responsible for creating the park. The company's BeyondME will also be available to park visitors via a smart bracelet. Tourists may create their own BeyondME identity, design their own avatar, earn and spend XP as virtual money, and rise through the ranks to unlock exclusive perks. By integrating digital elements, such as mobile games and online purchases, into their in-park experience for free, the fan loyalty and online gaming platform creates a really unique and memorable journey for all park visitors.

The concept of "micro-parks," of which Katmandu Park Punta Cana is a part, is becoming more popular in the amusement park business. In Florida, the Peppa Pig World Theme Park has debuted, and in Texas, Universal Studios is set to open soon. More theme parks are also planned for the Canary Islands and Mexico.
