Introducing the Mori Building Digital Art Museum in Tokyo – A Digital Wonderland

TeamLab and urban developer Mori Building are the ones who will open the Mori Building Digital Art Museum in Odaiba, Tokyo this summer. It will cover more than 10,000-squares-meters and will feature digital art only, with the purpose to break down the borders between one art and another, as well as art and visitors, allowing them to become part of it.
The artworks have been created through the use of digital technology and professional programmers, engineers, artists, animators and more. Some of their work of arts have been on display in institutions such as the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco and the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection in Istanbul.
This new immersive art experience will be borderless, as the digital projections can move and bring guests inside of the artworks, allowing them to explore a new kind of relationship between humans and digital art. Furthermore, it aims to free art from all physical constrictions.
As a visitor, you won’t just look at the art, but become a part of it. For example, the Athletics Forest is a creative space especially designed to stimulate the brain’s hippocampus by encouraging you to jump, climb and move around the space, thus interacting with the space around you.
The Future Park is an education centre where people can collaborate and make art. The Forest of Lamps is going to be one of the most exhilarating experiences, as the lanterns will respond to human actions, lighting up in the presence of people.
