Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced three new hotel openings in Italy, adding 428 rooms and suites to its Italian portfolio and introducing two new brands to the country for the first time.
Hyatt Regency Rome Central, expected to open by the end of Q3 2026, will be the first Hyatt Regency property in Italy. Located near Rome’s Termini train station, the 238-room full-service hotel will feature a rooftop pool, Pool Bar, and Asian-inspired restaurant Niroma, targeting business travelers and the meetings and events segment.
Thompson Rome, expected to open in Q4 2026, marks the debut of Hyatt’s Thompson Hotels lifestyle brand in Italy. Housed in a repurposed heritage building near the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Piazza Venezia, the 69-room property will include three dining venues, a sixth-floor Italian Riviera-inspired restaurant, and a rooftop cocktail bar.
Park Hyatt Taormina, expected to open in 2028 in Sicily, will become the second Park Hyatt in Italy after Park Hyatt Milan. The 121-suite property will offer private terraces, views of the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna, locally inspired dining, and a spa, targeting the high-end leisure segment in one of Sicily’s most sought-after destinations.
“Italy is an important growth market for Hyatt because it combines strong travel demand with a large base of independent hotels,” said Nuno Galvao Pinto, Vice President Development EAME at Hyatt.
Hyatt currently operates six hotels across five brands in Italy, with properties in Milan, Venice, Rome, Florence, and Sardinia. The company has quadrupled its Italian room count since 2019 and has more than 40 hotels planned across Europe in the coming years.
