Hyatt Place Semarang to Anchor New Indonesian Mixed-Use Hub
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a management agreement with PT PAM and BINA NUSANTARA to develop Hyatt Place Semarang, a new select-service hotel that will form part of an integrated education, lifestyle, business, and hospitality ecosystem in the Indonesian city of Semarang.
The development will sit alongside BINUS SCHOOL Semarang, BINUS University @Semarang, and 23 Semarang Mall, with BINA NUSANTARA aiming to create a connected environment linking education, community, and commercial activity in the region.
Hyatt Place Semarang is planned as a seven-floor, 154-room property featuring a lobby, all-day dining, ballroom, meeting rooms, restaurant, gym, swimming pool, and a rooftop bar overlooking the Java Sea. As part of Hyatt's Essentials portfolio, the hotel will bring the brand's select-service format and 24/7 conveniences to the city, catering to business travelers, families, and community events.
The building's design draws on organic forms and coastal characteristics, featuring a dynamic shape, green open spaces, and an inner courtyard designed to bring natural light throughout the interior.
"BINA NUSANTARA continues to expand its contribution by presenting initiatives that are not only focused on education but also support the growth of communities and the surrounding area," said Lawrence Wibisono, Director of PT PAM.
"As Semarang continues to grow as a destination for business, education, and tourism, we believe Hyatt Place Semarang will offer a seamless stay experience that meets the needs of today's modern travelers," said Sarah Leow, Hyatt's Head of Growth & Owner Relations for North East and South East Asia.
