Hilton Has Teamed Up With Tesla To Set Up Charging Stations

Hotels & Resorts

As part of its expanding relationship with Tesla, Hilton has promised to install 20,000 EV chargers across 2,000 of its properties in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Hilton asserted that this initiative will establish the hospitality sector's biggest overnight electric car charging network, while the company's portfolio is uniquely positioned to offer such access at scale for customers on long-haul travels because to its huge global reach.

The plan is to launch the initiative in 2024.

Hotels taking part in the program will each set up at least six Tesla Universal Wall Connectors, which can be used to charge not just Teslas but any electric car type sold in North America. The $595 Tesla Universal Wall Connector was released to the public earlier this year.

According to Hilton CBO Matt Schuyler, this broadened collaboration with Tesla, the group is dramatically transforming the scene of universal EV chargers throughout North America in an extraordinarily short period of time.

The ability to charge electric vehicles is becoming more important to a rising number of hotel visitors. According to Hilton, there has been a rise in interest in finding charging-capable hotels through the company's website, with a dramatic increase in the website's EV charging searches conversion rate from fourth to second position so far this year.

With the help of Tesla and GE, Hilton launched its first electric vehicle charging initiative in 2015, with the goal of installing EV chargers in 100 of its U.S. properties by 2016.
