Heathrow launches limited-edition bears with free giveaway for select passengers
Heathrow Airport has launched its beloved Doris and Edward Bair characters as limited-edition teddy bears available in airport shops, alongside a one-day giveaway for lucky passengers.
Travellers passing through Heathrow on 25 March who share the first name Doris or Edward can claim a free bear, marking the official retail debut of the iconic duo. The offer is available on a first-come, first-served basis upon presentation of a valid passport or boarding pass.
The bears will also be available to purchase from World Duty Free and Glorious Britain stores across the airport, as well as through Heathrow’s Reserve & Collect service, priced at £27.99.
Doris and Edward first appeared in Heathrow’s 2016 Christmas advert and quickly became popular with audiences thanks to their heartwarming story centred on travel, family and reunion. Their return in a 2025 campaign helped renew interest ahead of their retail launch.
The initiative forms part of Heathrow’s 80th anniversary celebrations, marking eight decades since its first commercial flight. The airport already sells more than 82,000 teddy bears annually, with demand peaking during the summer travel season.
The addition of Doris and Edward marks the first time Heathrow’s own characters are available for passengers to take home, offering a new souvenir option for travellers.
