GREEN COLLECTION, starring 14 Kempinski Hotels, Unveiled By Global Hotel Alliance

News

EarthCheck, Green Growth 2050, Green Key, and Green Globe are part of the 15 top regulatory organisations represented by hotels in the Green Collection, all of which require hotels to satisfy the strictest worldwide criteria for sustainability programmes and operations and undergo regular third-party inspections to maintain recognition.

Each hotel in the Green Collection is an innovator in environmental preservation and community development in the areas where they serve, and earning accreditation proves that the hotel is committed to these values for the long haul.

Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin and The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore are just two of the 14 Kempinski Hotels featured in the portfolio.

Kempinski Hotels plans to have all of its hotels' energy emissions measured by the end of this year, and by the end of next year, while aspiring to have completely implemented science-based objectives for carbon reductions linked with the Paris Agreement. The high-end hotel chain is implementing the EarthCheck Certified programme across its properties, with participating facilities tracking and analysing their energy and water use, carbon footprint, trash produced, community involvement, and other environmental and social consequences. EarthCheck addresses a variety of economic issues, such as working conditions, community involvement, fair-trade purchases, and income fluctuations.

According to a new analysis by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), 69% of travellers will be looking for greener travel options in 2023. Green Collection satisfies this growing demand by providing the 24 million members of the GHA DISCOVERY loyalty programme with the information and tools they need to make ethical and sustainable travel decisions. With 32% more stays, 39% more nights, 47% more room revenue, and 49% more overall income, Green Collection hotels were the clear favourite among members in 2022.

As part of the festivities surrounding the introduction of the Green Collection, GHA DISCOVERY will be making charitable contributions to organisations preferred by its members and the establishments they patronise.
