Fraport Traffic Rises in January 2026 Across Group Airports
Fraport AG has reported traffic growth across its airport portfolio in January 2026, signalling a solid start to the year for Europe’s major aviation operator.
According to the latest figures, the total number of passengers using all airports actively managed by Fraport rose by 7.1 % year-on-year in January, reaching approximately 9.6 million travellers.
Frankfurt Airport, Fraport’s flagship hub, also delivered growth, with around 4.1 million passengers passing through in January — up 4.9 % compared with the same month last year.
In addition to passenger traffic gains, the airport operator recorded growth in other key indicators. Cargo volumes at Frankfurt increased to approximately 150,044 metric tons — a rise of 1.2 % — while aircraft movements also climbed modestly, reflecting broader operational momentum.
Airport leaders said the uptick across Fraport’s network underscores continued travel demand following strong 2025 performance and reflects broader resilience in European aviation. The results demonstrate that both leisure and business travel markets remain active as the industry heads into the spring season.
Fraport will publish fuller traffic data in its regular monthly reports throughout 2026, offering further insights into travel trends and airport performance across its global portfolio.
