News

Fairmont Mayakoba, after a multimillion-dollar renovation is proud to present its new facilities. This project involved a complete remodel of all guest rooms, suites, and casitas.

It also included an overhaul of all restaurants and bars, as well as the resort's three beaches, main pool, reception, and lobby.

The existing kids club got a complete makeover and a second club was added for the younger ones. The resort also revealed two new dining options in the main resort area, and an exclusive beach club with five new restaurants that are surrounded by three new pools.

Maykana, the resort’s stunning new beach club, is the crown jewel of the renovation project. It offers guests an elevated oceanfront experience in a modern atmosphere with breathtaking views of the Caribbean. The resort's desire is to share Mayan history and culture with guests through five elements of nature, which are air, water and fire in the Mayan culture. The basket that binds these elements together is called "Kana" in Mayan. Fairmont created the Maykana "welcome bag" to represent a home far from home.

Maykana's elegant terraces, private luxury cabanas and sunken fire pits offer a refined setting for relaxation and resort dining. New food and beverage outlets at the beach club include Mediterranean-inspired Brisas. This brings the airy element to Maykana, on a tranquil terrace overlooking the Mexican Caribbean. Aqua, a bar that specializes in Latin-inspired cocktails and is surrounded by private cabanas at the poolside, brings the element water. Fuego, a Tulum-inspired ancestral barbecue that captures a bohemian yet energetic feel, brings Maykana the element of fire. Gaia, Maykana’s signature restaurant, is the embodiment of the earth element. It serves a wide variety of local seafood from Mexico as well as international cuisine. Cielo, the beach club's adult-only lounge, brings the element of the aether to Maykana. It offers the best Mayan sunset views and is open only to adults. Every Maykana venue offers an exceptional culinary experience.

Two new culinary offerings are available in the main resort area. La Laguna offers a unique Mexican concept. The restaurant's design reflects the talents of its chefs who combine modern and traditional techniques. Beautiful art and colorful fabrics will be surrounded guests at La Cantina, which is inspired by Mexican culture. It features an open kitchen concept, al fresco terrace, lively lounge, a private pavilion and over-the water decks that overlook the Mayakoba canals. Here guests can enjoy authentic Mexican recipes and craft cocktails. La Laguna is open for breakfast and dinner, and is located in central resort.

The stylish Italian restaurant Bassano brings comfort to Mayakoba. The restaurant's focus is on the most basic ingredients, egg, flour, water, while still delivering rich flavors in every dish. The restaurant's standout menu includes homemade pizzas, signature bucatini cacio e pepe, and exquisite wines. Bassano, which boasts a stunningly designed outdoor pizza oven and bar, is a standout restaurant on the property. It has an ingredient-driven menu that keeps customers coming back for more. Bassano is open for lunch and dinner, and is next to La Laguna.

Fairmont Spa, a beauty salon, a fitness center and rehabilitated meeting and convention spaces will all be part of the ongoing renovation. This new salon will be the largest in Mayakoba. All-new furniture and a new front desk will be featured in the spa. There will also be state-of-the art massage beds and a botanical garden where guests can grow their own herbs. Technogym will also be updating the fitness center with new equipment, such as rowing machines or infinite staircases. The Serenity Room will also include a juice bar, lounge and networking areas to help guests de-stress. The new meeting and convention spaces will have a fresh look with sophisticated lighting and local woods.

Fairmont Mayakoba celebrates its 17th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the resort offers 30% off stays between May and December 2023 if booked before March 31, 2023. Based on availability, the Anniversary Offer offers an upgrade at the time you book, a guided catamaran tour including kayaking, and use of bikes to explore Mayakoba.
