In 2024, Eurowings is set to offer its most extensive flight program to Spain yet, with over 600 weekly flights spanning almost 100 routes to 14 destinations. This expansion marks a significant increase in capacity—more than one-third compared to 2019—reflecting a continued rise in demand. Popular destinations include the Balearic Islands with Mallorca at the forefront, coastal mainland cities such as Barcelona and Malaga, and lesser-known gems like Bilbao and the volcanic Canary Island of La Palma.
Eurowings, a Lufthansa subsidiary, is connecting Spain from 26 airports across Europe, including Prague and Stockholm, and has newly added direct flights from Erfurt to Palma de Mallorca. The airline’s major hubs in Germany—Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne, and Stuttgart—are offering extensive connections:
- Berlin: Flights to eight destinations including up to 22 weekly flights to Palma de Mallorca, and multiple weekly flights to Malaga, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Alicante, and Ibiza.
- Düsseldorf: Offers the most robust schedule with up to 64 weekly flights to Palma de Mallorca and regular flights to 13 other destinations including Alicante, Barcelona, and Valencia.
- Hamburg: Features up to 42 weekly flights to Palma de Mallorca and connections to 12 other destinations such as Barcelona and Tenerife.
- Cologne: Maintains a schedule of up to 48 flights per week to Palma de Mallorca with several other flights spanning across the Canary and Balearic Islands.
- Stuttgart: Also provides up to 42 flights per week to Palma de Mallorca, with additional routes to popular destinations like Alicante, Barcelona, and Malaga.
This expansion not only caters to the traditional tourist sectors but also taps into niche markets, offering varied experiences from the cultural richness of northern Spain to the exotic landscapes of the Canary Islands.
