Eurowings, known for its innovative travel experiences, has launched a new hot air balloon service from the sunny island of Mallorca. The idea, which began as an April Fool's joke, has become a reality with the "Burgundy Dreams" balloon now taking off regularly.
A Unique Flight Experience
First Jet-Designed Balloon
- The balloon features a cockpit, tail unit, and wings, mimicking an airplane design.
- Painted in Eurowings' colors and branding, the balloon offers a distinctive look.
A Dream Turned Reality
- Initially announced as an April Fool's joke on April 1, 2024, the overwhelming positive response led to its actual creation.
- The balloon was manufactured in Barcelona, fulfilling Eurowings' promise to deliver unique vacation experiences.
Scenic Tours Over Mallorca
Launching in June
- Starting June, the balloon will offer scenic tours, allowing passengers to explore Mallorca from up to 500 meters in the air.
- Operated by Mallorca Balloons, which has been active on the island for 37 years.
Balloon Specifications
- The M160 hot air balloon can hold over 4,500 cubic meters of air and stands more than 22 meters high.
- The basket can accommodate four to five passengers, offering an open-air, convertible-like experience.
