Eurostar witnesses “robust” revival of business travel

News

According to the company’s representatives, business travel is back “faster than expected” in the first half of this year, despite Eurostar railway operating at only 75 per cent of its pre-pandemic schedule for trips to and from the UK and Europe.

Eurostar’s chief commercial officer, Francois Le Doze, declared about the company’s expectations:

“We are confident that this trend will continue after the summer period, with September traditionally marking a busy month for corporate travel.”

According to a recent survey conducted by the company, 78 per cent of corporate travellers are planning to return to their pre-pandemic business travelling habits this year. For now, the highest customer demand is for the London-Paris railway segment.

Moreover, Eurostar bookings for corporate accounts have boosted by 40 per cent within the past three years, as train travel is a more practical as well as a more sustainable transportation option, with 56 per cent of corporate travellers aiming to reduce their carbon footprint as the main goal for 2022 travel season.
