Etihad Rail's first Abu Dhabi-Al Dhannah passenger trip completed.

Etihad Rail and ADNOC launched a new rail service connecting Abu Dhabi City with Al Dhannah, marking a step towards sustainable transport and economic growth in the UAE.

The inaugural journey of the new rail service between Abu Dhabi City and Al Dhannah was graced by His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and the Managing Director and Group CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). This rail line, still under construction, is set to facilitate travel for ADNOC's workforce and contractors once fully operational.

H.E. Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber remarked on the synergy between ADNOC and Etihad Rail, emphasizing the rail's contribution to the UAE's growth and sustainability goals. The service aims to link major trade and population centers, enhancing economic development and supporting decarbonization efforts.

The partnership also includes the transport of sulphur products from Shah and Habshan to Al Ruwais Industrial City, underlining the strategic collaboration aimed at bolstering the national economy through the utilization of local resources.

Etihad Rail's CEO, His Excellency Shadi Malak, expressed pride in hosting ADNOC's leadership on this historic ride, highlighting the rail network's role in reinforcing the UAE's status in global logistics and infrastructure, and providing a sustainable and efficient transport solution.
