This new initiative promises significant savings, with groups of three to nine people eligible for up to 34% off adult fares, and children's travel priced at just £1 each.

The Barton Line, known for connecting a series of charming towns and picturesque landscapes from Barton upon Humber to Cleethorpes, serves as a vital link for tourists and locals alike. With stops at key locations such as Barrow Haven, Goxhill, and the historical Thornton Abbey, the line offers a window to the rich heritage and natural beauty of the region.

Local council members and community groups have lauded the introduction of the GroupSave ticket, highlighting its potential to boost local tourism and provide an economical travel option for visiting friends and family across North East and North Lincolnshire.

Councillor Stewart Swinburn, of North East Lincolnshire Council, praised the initiative for making public transport a more appealing choice for group outings. Tom Irvin, Chair of the Friends of the Barton Line group, welcomed the fare reduction as a pivotal step towards making rail travel more affordable and appealing, especially for families and small groups.

Simon Pready, EMR's Commercial Director, expressed enthusiasm about extending the GroupSave offer to Barton Line passengers, emphasizing the savings and the opportunity to experience the line's numerous attractions more affordably.

Among the top must-visit sites along the Barton Line are the Waters’ Edge Country Park and Visitor Centre, Thornton Abbey and Gatehouse, and the historic seaside resort of Grimsby & Cleethorpes.
