Elysium Spa Opens at Hotel La Compañía del Valle, A Luxury Wellness Retreat in Panama

Hyatt Hotels Corporation and La Compañía Hotels & Resorts have officially opened Elysium Spa & Wellness House, a 22,000 sq. ft. sanctuary of wellness and relaxation at the newly launched Hotel La Compañía del Valle, part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. Located in El Valle de Antón, within the crater of an extinct volcano, the spa is set amid Panama’s lush highlands and dramatic volcanic terrain.

The spa’s design draws inspiration from ancient Roman bathhouses and the natural textures of the surrounding environment. Materials such as carved marble, volcanic stone, raw timber, and oxidized metals create a grounding atmosphere, enhanced by soft lighting and views of the cloud forest and La India Dormida mountain.

Guests can unwind in a variety of facilities including thermal pools, a sensory deprivation pool, steam rooms, and specialized therapy suites, some featuring wine and cacao treatments. Signature experiences include the Feel Elysium Massage, Panama-Citrus Wrap, and the Cacao Experience Wrap, among others. Spa access includes use of a Himalayan salt room, aromatherapy steam room, mud therapy room, and jacuzzi.

The spa complements the offerings of the 72-room Hotel La Compañía del Valle, which combines Tuscan-inspired architecture with an extensive sculpture garden of over 200 artworks, framed by the mountains of La India Dormida, El Gaital, and Las Tres Marías. Located two hours from Panama City, the hotel is a nature-focused retreat tied to its sister property, Hotel La Compañía Casco Antiguo, a 17th-century Jesuit convent-turned-boutique hotel in Panama City’s historic district.
