
During Easter, Croatia Recorded a Huge Number of Tourists

This year, Croatia's tourism sector has seen a positive start. Currently, more than 120,000 tourists are in Croatia, with 100,000 of them being foreigners.
This figure represents an increase of approximately 50,000 tourists over the same period last years.
According to Travel and Tour World, tourists still want to see Croatia despite the inflation crisis. According to SchengenVisaInfo.com, Nevena Tomas, director of a Croatian hotel, stated that 100 percent of the hotel's guests were present during Easter.
However, despite the positive start to the year, the lack of manpower continues to plague the workforce of the tourism industry.
More than 110,000 tourists have chosen to stay in Croatia's coast, mainly in the Istria, Kvarner, and Split-Dalmatia regions. Among the top tourist destinations are Rovinj and Porec as well as Dubrovnik and Split.
Croatians are a significant portion of tourists to the country.
Croatia has received 1.2 million visitors and 3.5 million overnight stay since the start of the year. This is a 35% increase in arrivals, and 29% in overnight stays when compared to last year.
The Croatian Bureau of Statistics previously revealed that Croatian accommodations establishments had recorded 229,000 tourists arrivals and 602,000 nights during January 2023. This indicates an increase of 32.4 percent and 19.1% respectively compared to January 2017.
According to the same source, domestic tourists stayed 253,000 nights and received 114,000 tourist arrivals in January. This is an increase of 15% in tourist arrivals and 3.2% in tourist nights over the same month in 2022.
Croatia saw an increase in foreign tourist arrivals during this period. The country had 114,000 tourists visit the country, and Croatia recorded 253,000 nights. This is a 55.7 per cent increase in foreign tourist arrivals, and 34.1 per 100 more tourists nights than January 2022.
According to Statistics Office of Croatia, Croatia saw a record 15.3 million tourists last year. This represents a 44% increase over the previous year.
Comparatively to 2021 the number of internationals who stayed over last year has increased by 31% to 82.3 million.
