Direct Stockholm–Shanghai Flights Launch in June 2026

Airlines & Airports

A new direct air route between Stockholm and Shanghai will launch in summer 2026, reconnecting Sweden with one of China’s largest aviation hubs.

China Eastern Airlines will begin operating nonstop flights between Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 22 June 2026. The service will run three times per week, with departures scheduled on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The route marks the airline’s return to Stockholm after several years without direct connections between the two cities. Until now, passengers traveling between Stockholm and Shanghai typically had to fly with one or more connections.

Airport operator Swedavia says the new route will strengthen links between Sweden and China while improving travel options for both business and leisure passengers. Shanghai is one of Asia’s largest cities and a major international business and tourism destination.

The service is expected to support tourism, trade and business travel between the two regions while also improving connectivity for travelers flying between Europe and Asia through China Eastern’s network.
