Delta Resumes Daily Flights Between New York and Venice, Expands Atlanta Service
Delta Air Lines enhances U.S.-Italy connectivity with daily New York-Venice flights and introduces additional Atlanta service, totaling 17 weekly flights to Venice during peak season.
Delta Air Lines is set to strengthen the aviation bridge between the United States and Italy by resuming its daily nonstop flights from New York's JFK Airport to Venice's Marco Polo Airport. Utilizing the Boeing 767-300 aircraft, equipped with 216 seats, this service aims to facilitate travel and foster closer ties between the two countries.
In a move to expand its offerings, Delta will also inaugurate two flights from Venice to Atlanta, marking the first time the airline has provided such extensive service on this route. The resumption of nonstop flights to Atlanta later this month will be complemented by a second service throughout the summer, boosting Delta's weekly flights between Venice and the U.S. to 17 during the peak season. These flights will offer connections to over 200 cities across North America and beyond.
Matteo Curcio, Delta’s Senior Vice President for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India, highlighted the importance of the service. “With our New York service and enhanced Atlanta services, we're offering customers increased choice for flying between Venice and the U.S. this summer," he said. Curcio emphasized Venice's allure to U.S. travelers and the potential for tourism and trade opportunities that these flights bring to the city and region.
Camillo Bozzolo, Aviation Development Director of the SAVE Group, which manages Venice Marco Polo Airport, also commented on the significance of these connections. He noted the substantial growth in travel between Venice and North America, with passenger numbers last year significantly surpassing those of 2019. Bozzolo pointed out that the increased frequencies to Atlanta would further enhance the range of destinations available to travelers heading to North, Central, and South America.
Delta's flight offerings include four distinct product experiences: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin, catering to various passenger needs and preferences. Highlights of the Delta One experience include lie-flat seats, premium amenities, and a four-course meal curated by a seasonal chef. Delta Premium Select passengers will enjoy more space, a wider seat, and additional reclining options for enhanced comfort during their journey.
In line with Delta's commitment to enhancing the customer experience, the airline is investing $12 billion in airport terminal improvements. This includes the development of new premium lounges at New York-JFK, Boston, and Los Angeles, and upgrades at JFK Terminal 4 to facilitate easier transfers.
Operating in cooperation with European partners Air France, KLM, and Virgin Atlantic, Delta's summer 2024 schedule promises to offer seamless and enriched travel experiences for passengers flying between New York, JFK, and Venice.
