Delta Expands Ski Destination Flights from LAX, MSP, and More for Winter 2024

Starting December 21, 2024, Delta Airlines will launch its most extensive domestic ski schedule, including more flights from Los Angeles (LAX) than ever before. The expanded service will also include robust flights from Minneapolis (MSP), Atlanta (ATL), and Salt Lake City (SLC) to premier U.S. ski destinations, boosting seat capacity by nearly 10% over 2023.

Extensive Winter Schedule

Delta's winter lineup features daily nonstop service from LAX to Jackson Hole (JAC) and new Saturday service to Sun Valley, Idaho (SUN). Additionally, Delta will reintroduce daily flights to Bozeman (BZN) and Vail (EGE), alongside its year-round Aspen service.

Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning, highlighted the significance of these expansions:

"Delta is creating essential connections from our growing hub and state-of-the-art facilities in Los Angeles and across the U.S. to bring premier ski resorts within easy reach this winter. With our latest winter schedule, customers have more choices than ever, with up to 190 weekly flights to places our customers want to fly to most, paired with the premium services and amenities our customers always enjoy."

Enhanced Services from Key HubsLos Angeles (LAX)

  • Increased Capacity: A 25% increase in seat capacity for ski destinations.
  • New Routes: Daily flights to Jackson Hole, year-round Aspen service, daily flights to Bozeman and Vail, and new Saturday service to Sun Valley.
  • Seamless Experience: State-of-the-art Terminal 3, with features like a centralized check-in lobby, expanded security checkpoint, and Delta Sky Club with exclusive amenities.

Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP)

  • Expanded Service: Resumption of daily flights to Steamboat Springs, Colorado (HDN) and Jackson Hole during the holiday period, in addition to year-round flights to Bozeman.
  • Enhanced Lounge: The third Delta Sky Club at MSP, opened in spring 2023, offering over 21,000 square feet of premium space.

Atlanta (ATL) and Salt Lake City (SLC)

  • ATL: Increased frequency to Bozeman with a second daily flight. Continued daily flights to Aspen, Vail, Steamboat Springs, Montrose/Telluride, and Jackson Hole.
  • SLC: Daily flights to Bozeman, Jackson Hole, and Sun Valley. Enhanced travel experience through the expansive Concourse A and the Delta Sky Club featuring mountain views and premium amenities.

Additional Benefits for Ski Travelers

Delta Stays and Car Rentals: SkyMiles Members can earn 2x miles per dollar spent on mountain ski resorts, hotels, and vacation rentals. They can also book winter vacation packages with Delta Vacations, earning miles and Medallion Status credits.

Connectivity: Fast, free Delta Sync Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile is available for SkyMiles Members on most domestic flights, with plans to expand across the global fleet.

Enhanced In-Flight Experience: Delta’s new personalized seatback screens on Airbus A321ceo, A319, A320, and Boeing 757-200 (75D) aircraft offer a smart TV-like experience with day-of-travel tools for SkyMiles Members.
