Xi Jinping, president of China, visits Boeing commercial airplane factory to confirm purchase

President of China was welcomed into Boeing commercial airplane factory to confirm beneficial cooperation agreements between Boeing and China. President Xi visited Boeing factory and viewed assembly lines for the 787 Dreamliner, 777 and 747-8 and talked to Boeing employees.

300 Boeing aircrafts will be ordered from Boeing, which will expand Boeing and China’s commercial flights industry collaboration. Boeing and China Aviation Supplies Holding Company closed a General Terms Agreement on the purchase. Boeing also benefits by meeting its strategic business plan to extend the air-fleet of the world’s largest airplane market.

Boeing president Dennis Muilenburg welcomed Chinese president's visit: “Today’s visit by President Xi represents a new chapter in the valuable relationship between Boeing and China. Boeing is committed to further strengthening and deepening our partnership with China in mutually beneficial ways that will bring positive outcomes to Boeing and our Chinese partners.”

Li Hai, president of China Aviation Supplies Holding Company acknowledges the agreement's significance: “Boeing airplanes have played an important role in supporting the development of China’s aviation transportation for the past 40 years. These additional airplanes will further help connect the people in China and around the world.”

The order has an approximate value of $38 billion.
