Cathay Pacific launches direct Hong Kong–Seattle service
Cathay Pacific has launched a new non-stop route between Hong Kong and Seattle, strengthening its presence in North America and enhancing connectivity between the two cities.
The new service operates five times per week and marks the airline’s ninth destination in North America. It also provides the only direct connection between Hong Kong and Seattle, a major hub for technology, culture and commerce.
Flights are operated using Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering fully flat beds in Business Class, Premium Economy seating and standard Economy cabins. The route launched as part of Cathay Pacific’s 80th anniversary celebrations, with the inaugural flight featuring a special-edition aircraft livery.
The new connection is expected to support both business and leisure travel, while also strengthening cargo capacity through additional belly-hold space on passenger flights.
During the summer season, Cathay Pacific will operate close to 120 return flights per week to nine North American destinations, including Los Angeles, New York, Toronto and Vancouver.
The airline highlighted that the new Seattle route reflects its broader investment strategy in fleet, onboard products and digital services, aimed at delivering a seamless travel experience and reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as a global aviation hub.
