Carnival Mardi Gras Visits Celebration Key with 9,000 Guests

Carnival Cruise Line marked another milestone as Mardi Gras, its first Excel-class ship, docked at the newly opened Celebration Key, joining Carnival Pride to bring 9,000 guests to the 65-acre Bahamian destination.
Celebration Key, which opened just last weekend, is redefining the cruise port experience with five themed portals, a 1.5-mile pristine beach, the largest freshwater lagoons in the Caribbean, the world’s biggest swim-up and swings bars, over 30 dining and drink venues, and the largest private beach club retreat at any cruise port.
Mardi Gras is visiting as part of a week-long Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral, while Carnival Pride is calling on Celebration Key during a week-long Bahamas sailing from Baltimore.
“We’re immensely proud and grateful for the incredible response from guests visiting Celebration Key this first week,” said Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line. “Delivering more fun to 9,000 visitors in a single day shows why this destination is already a guest favorite.”
Celebration Key is expected to welcome millions of visitors annually, cementing its role as Carnival’s signature Caribbean destination.
