British Airways Adds Avios-Only Flights to Summer Hotspots

British Airways has unveiled a fresh batch of Avios-only flights to two of Europe’s most-sought-after summer holiday destinations, giving members of its loyalty programme expanded opportunities to redeem their points for high-demand travel in 2026.

 

The newly released availability allows Avios redemptions on flights to popular Mediterranean locations — known for sun, culture and beach leisure — without the need to pay cash for the base fare. This move is designed to support frequent flyers and rewards members who prefer to use points for peak-season travel rather than cash purchases.

British Airways says the latest release complements its existing Avios redemptions across the network and responds to member feedback for more options to book award travel during the busy summer period. By opening up seats on routes to favourite holiday destinations, the airline aims to provide more flexibility and value within its Executive Club programme.

Passengers booking with Avios can redeem flights through British Airways’ online booking portal, with availability limited and subject to the number of seats released per flight. The airline encourages members to book quickly as summer 2026 award seats are expected to be in high demand.
