Blackstone to acquire Sunseeker Resort for $200 million

Blackstone Real Estate has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor from Allegiant Travel Company for $200 million. The deal marks a major expansion of Blackstone’s hospitality footprint and underscores its confidence in high-end resort destinations.

 

Located on Florida’s Gulf Coast, Sunseeker Resort spans 22 acres and features 785 rooms, multiple dining venues, two pools, a luxury spa, a fitness center, a rooftop adults-only pool and bar, a championship golf course, and over 60,000 square feet of indoor meeting space.

“The acquisition of this highly-amenitized, group-oriented resort shows our strong belief in the travel sector,” said Scott Trebilco, Senior Managing Director at Blackstone Real Estate. “Allegiant has delivered a first-class property, and we’re excited to bring our expertise to Sunseeker.”

The transaction aligns with Allegiant’s broader strategy to refocus on its core airline operations. CEO Gregory C. Anderson noted that proceeds from the sale will be used to reduce company debt and improve its balance sheet.

“Blackstone is the ideal partner to help maximize the value of Sunseeker,” Anderson added. “Their hospitality experience and execution capabilities are unmatched.”

The sale is expected to close in Q3 2025, pending customary approvals and closing conditions. Barclays acted as financial advisor to Allegiant in the transaction.

This acquisition adds to Blackstone’s growing real estate portfolio and comes amid strong post-pandemic demand for leisure and group travel in premium U.S. resort markets.
