Avani Brand Debuts in the Netherlands with New Amsterdam Hotel

Hotels & Resorts

Minor Hotels is set to introduce the Avani Hotels & Resorts brand in the Netherlands with the opening of the Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam. This 163-room hotel, located near major cultural landmarks, combines Dutch art, history, and contemporary design for a unique stay. Features include 24/7 in-room dining, a state-of-the-art gym, and a grab-and-go dining concept.

Minor Hotels, an international hotel group with over 540 properties across 56 countries, has announced the expansion of its Avani Hotels & Resorts brand into the Netherlands, scheduled for the second quarter of this year. The Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam, formerly a 163-room property, is set to offer a modern canal-side lodging experience that merges elements of Dutch art and history, catering to both business and leisure guests.

Strategically positioned in the heart of Amsterdam’s cultural district, the hotel is a stone's throw away from the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. Its design is inspired by the nearby Stedelijk Museum, featuring a mix of avant-garde and rationalist elements. The property stands out with its sleek glass exterior and interior decor that pays tribute to the city's famous canals through vibrant and glossy finishes.

Accommodations at the Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam will span seven floors, with several rooms offering panoramic views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Guest rooms and suites will boast a 60s-inspired decor and come equipped with modern amenities such as power showers, coffee makers, garment steamers, yoga mats, and high-quality Bluetooth speakers, ensuring a comfortable stay. The hotel will also offer 24-hour in-room dining focusing on fresh, healthy fare and a 24/7 fitness center equipped with the latest exercise technology. For outdoor enthusiasts, Vondelpark's jogging paths are nearby.

The ground floor will feature an open-concept lobby lounge adjacent to The Pantry, Avani’s signature dining option, providing guests with a selection of local and freshly prepared dishes, healthy snacks, vegan options, and smoothies. The hotel is also conveniently located near the PC Hooftstraat shopping area and the De Pijp neighborhood, with Amsterdam Central Station only a ten-minute drive away, facilitating easy travel. For business needs, the hotel will offer a modern boardroom, and the RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre is easily accessible by tram.

The launch of the Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam is a key development for Minor Hotels, emphasizing the group's dedication to offering standout experiences worldwide. This introduction in the Netherlands follows Avani's recent expansion in Europe, with new properties in Madrid, Milan, Venice, and Frankfurt, and plans to enter the Chinese market. Avani aims to continue its growth, with expectations to nearly double its portfolio by the end of 2026. Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor International and Minor Hotels, highlighted this opening as an opportunity for guests to experience Avani's unique design-focused approach in one of Europe’s most vibrant cities.
