Aman Resorts’ New Janu Brand Will Open in Autumn

Janu Tokyo, Aman's first sister hotel brand, will open in the autumn.
Janu properties offer a social experience that is similar to Aman luxury hotels all over the globe.
Janu Tokyo will be opening at Azabudai Hills. This new urban village is due to open in September.
The hotel will feature 122 guest rooms on 13 floors. Its interiors will be designed by Jean-Michel Gathy (the same man who designed Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo and Marina Bay Sands) and Aman New York.
Janu Tokyo rooms will feature floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of Tokyo Tower and the surrounding greenery. There will be many options for connecting rooms in keeping with the brand’s focus on social connections.
Janu properties, which can be translated as "soul" from Sanskrit means an appreciation for cuisine, art, and design. This will be represented in Tokyo by six restaurants including two Japanese outlets, an Italian restaurant, a patisserie and a grill restaurant. A bar, lounge, and terrace with a garden will be available.
Janu Tokyo will have a wellness centre measuring 4,000 square metres, one of Japan's largest. This is an important focus on well-being.
Travellers can join group classes in "movement studios", which offer a variety of spin, boxing, yoga and Pilates. A large gym, circuit training, and simulated golf will all be available. Seven treatment rooms will offer wellness therapies. A large hydrotherapy and thermal area will be available, which will be located around a 25-metre heated pool.
The hotel will feature two spa houses and a separate lounge for socializing, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese culture.
Vladislav Doronin (chairman and chief executive of Aman and Janu) stated, "Being part in the Azabudai hills project sets the benchmark für the brand and all the Janus to follow and, with Janu Tokyo being a fitting flagship, it allows us to connect to the heart and inspire 'new world' hubs of culture and arts.
Saudi Arabia will be Janu's second property.
Janu AlUla will be launched in the popular heritage site of the kingdom, known for its preserved tombs as well as sandstone outcrops. Janu AlUla has not yet been confirmed.
