Allegiant introduces “Travel with Confidence” policy during government shutdown

Airlines & Airports

Allegiant has launched a new “Travel with Confidence” policy, offering passengers greater flexibility as travel conditions remain uncertain during the current partial government shutdown in the United States.

Under the policy, customers with flights scheduled during the shutdown period can change or cancel their bookings without paying any fees. The initiative applies to both new and existing reservations, giving travellers more control over their plans.

Passengers who choose to cancel can receive a full refund without penalty, although changes and cancellations must be processed through Allegiant’s Customer Care channels.

The airline said the move is designed to provide peace of mind for travellers who may be concerned about potential disruptions, particularly related to airport operations and security delays.

Allegiant confirmed that its flights are continuing to operate as scheduled across its network, which focuses on smaller, less congested airports that often offer a more streamlined travel experience.

The policy forms part of the airline’s broader strategy to maintain flexibility and customer-focused service during periods of uncertainty.

Travellers are advised to allow extra time at airports and check local updates regarding security wait times while the situation continues.
