Air Uniqon Launches New Route Between BER and Friedrichshafen

Air Uniqon has begun scheduled flight operations connecting Berlin Brandenburg Airport with Friedrichshafen Airport, re-establishing a direct domestic link that had been absent for ten years.

The service, introduced on 12 January 2026, operates four times per week — on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays — and is tailored to business travellers and others seeking fast connections between the capital region and the economic and industrial hub around Lake Constance.

Air Uniqon is a newly founded virtual airline that outsources flight operations to a partner carrier. Flights on the Berlin–Friedrichshafen route are operated by Avanti Air using Bombardier Dash 8-400 turboprops with seating for approximately 78 passengers. The flight time between the two airports is about 90 minutes.

The schedule was developed in close collaboration with regional businesses, with flight times designed to support flexible day trips, short stays and efficient travel for business appointments. Early morning departures and evening return options aim to accommodate both weekday and weekend travel patterns.

Airport executives highlighted the route’s importance for strengthening economic ties between Berlin and southern Germany, pointing to improved accessibility for commerce, commuters and tourism alike. The connection also enhances domestic flight options at Berlin Brandenburg Airport amid ongoing efforts to expand its network.

The launch of Air Uniqon’s service marks a notable development for regional aviation in Germany, bringing renewed air connectivity to the Lake Constance area and offering travellers an alternative to rail and road transport.
