Air Canada Launches Year-Round Toronto Service from Manchester

Air Canada is set to launch a **year-round direct connection between Manchester Airport and Toronto Pearson International Airport, strengthening transatlantic connectivity for travellers in the North of England. The new service will commence in April 2026.

 

The introduction of a year-round Toronto flight reflects strong demand from both business passengers and holidaymakers, offering a daily long-haul link between the North West of England and Canada’s largest city. Air Canada’s decision to establish Manchester as a year-round gateway to North America adds to the airport’s growing list of long-haul destinations, supporting wider economic and tourism ties.

Travellers from the North of England previously had to connect via other UK hubs to reach Toronto. The new direct service removes that requirement, providing greater convenience and reducing overall journey times for customers travelling to one of Canada’s most vibrant and global cities.

Air Canada’s Toronto flights will operate on a scheduled basis with aircraft equipped to meet both business and leisure travel needs, though the airline has not yet confirmed specific aircraft types or frequencies. The move underscores Air Canada’s commitment to expanding its presence in the UK market and responding to demand for direct transatlantic travel options.

Manchester Airport said the new connection enhances its strategic position as a long-haul hub outside London, offering passengers additional choice and flexibility when planning trips to North America.
