Aeroporti di Roma (ADR) is embracing digital innovation with the launch of its new 'Shop&Fly' service, aimed at enhancing the shopping experience for travelers at Fiumicino ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ Airport. This service allows passengers to reserve products from an extensive online catalogue on the ADR website and collect them at the airport, offering a seamless blend of physical and digital shopping experiences.

Starting just before Summer 2024, ‘Shop&Fly’ is set to expand the shopping opportunities at Rome Fiumicino Airport, which has been recognized for the seventh consecutive year by ACI World as the best European hub in terms of passenger service quality. The service provides access to a catalogue of 9,000 items from over 600 premium brands available in Lagardère Travel Retail’s Aelia Duty Free stores, including perfumes, cosmetics, food and wine, and toys.

Alberto Niero, CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Italia, highlighted the initiative's alignment with modern consumer behavior, noting the digital orientation of today's shoppers and the aim to offer an additional purchasing channel.

Passengers flying from ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ Airport to any destination or arriving from an Italian or Schengen area destination can take advantage of the ‘Shop&Fly’ service. They can shop from the duty-free range online and pay and collect their purchases at special counters in the Aelia Duty Free stores. A noteworthy feature of this service is the special 10% discount offered for online orders, making it even more attractive to digitally savvy consumers.

In collaboration with ITA Airways, ‘Shop&Fly’ extends its convenience to ITA Airways passengers, including those arriving from non-Schengen destinations, who can collect their online orders at Aelia Duty Free store pick-up points.

ADR's Fiumicino ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ Airport, the only Italian airport with a 5-star Skytrax rating, continues to innovate by integrating 'phygital' (physical+digital) solutions into its service offering. The ADR.it website now functions as an e-commerce platform, featuring services like 'Personal Shopper', 'Book a Table', and 'Take away and Fly', aimed at enriching the pre-flight customer experience with a seamless digital interaction.

Marilena Blasi, Chief Commercial Officer at ADR, emphasized the importance of meeting customers' evolving needs and providing a seamless digital experience. The launch of 'Shop&Fly' represents ADR's commitment to continuous improvement in its offerings, brands, and services, ensuring they remain aligned with customer expectations.
