Aer Lingus to Launch New Dublin–Oslo Route in 2026
Aer Lingus will add Oslo to its route network with a new direct service from Dublin, set to launch in 2026, marking the airline’s first-ever operations to and from Norway. The flight time will be under two and a half hours, offering Norwegian travellers fast access to Ireland’s capital and beyond.
The new route is being welcomed by Norwegian airport operator Avinor, which sees it as a significant boost for connectivity. Aer Lingus launched its Tromsø–Dublin service on 3 December and will begin flying to Oslo from 1 May next year, returning to Scandinavia for the first time since 2016.
“Aer Lingus has never operated to or from Norway before,” said Ulv Elbirk, Director Route Development at Avinor. “This is a great addition to the route offerings in both Tromsø and Oslo.”
Boost for Tourism in Both Directions
Dublin offers visitors a mix of history and vibrant city life, from Trinity College and the Book of Kells to the lively streets and traditional music of Temple Bar. The surrounding region also provides strong appeal for golf and cultural tours rooted in Irish history.
The route is also expected to attract Irish visitors to Norway’s capital.
“This connection gives us a fantastic opportunity to welcome Irish travellers to Oslo,” said Christian Lunde, CEO of VisitOSLO. “Oslo combines world-class art, nature, food and culture in a way that appeals to every taste.”
Improved US Connectivity via Dublin
As part of the IAG Group, Aer Lingus offers strong transatlantic connections via Dublin, with particularly good onward links to New York, Boston and Washington.
“We are pleased to add Oslo to the Aer Lingus network,” said Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer at Aer Lingus. “This route also improves connections for travellers heading to the US via our Dublin hub, making Norway’s capital closer than ever.”
The new service strengthens ties between Ireland and Norway while enhancing long-haul connectivity for Scandinavian travellers.
